1. Providing the Prime Contractor’s primary point of contact on a day-to-day basis for work to be undertaken at specified sites.
2. Supervision of sub-contractors including monitoring the number of staff and time on site of contractor personnel
3. Ensuring that the construction, refurbishment, installation, commissioning, integration and acceptance testing work proceeds in accordance with:
a. Drawings and specifications provided
b. Health and safety requirements
c. Terms and conditions covered in the sub-contracts let by the Prime Contractor.
4. When issues with work arise leading the resolution and escalating where necessary either within GPT or with the contractor
5. Support all installation, integration and testing activities.
6. Provision of regular progress reports as required by Prime Contractor personnel for senior roles:
a. Coaching and mentoring of Site Supervisors
b. Ensuring that all documentation supplied by sub-contractors is consistent with the ‘as built’ site configuration.
c. Undertaking inspections/audits/site surveys at the request of authorized Prime Contractor personnel.

8. Identifying and supplying health and safety information.
9. Accident and near-miss reporting, recording and investigation.
10. Consultation with workers on health and safety matters.
11. Developing safe systems of work and permit-to- work systems to control hazards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR NATION WIDE FIBER:
The Site Inspector is responsible for the following actions notwithstanding any additional duties allocated by the Site Inspector Team Leader, SCIDA or nominated Deputy in his absence.
Act as GPT on-site Point of Contact (POC) between GPT Engineering and the Sub-Contractor in consultation with the GPT PM.
Check the project Configuration Item Data List (CIDL) to ensure that the Sub-Contractor does not deviate from the Approved Installation/Construction Drawings.
Ensure that the Sub-Contractor has the correct equipment to carry out the required work; this is to include OSP, ISP, and H&S etc.
Raise any engineering issues with the Engineering Department (SCIDA, IDE & SDE) and prevent any changes happening on site until approval has been given.
Whilst on site the Site Inspector is to ensure that the SC and site visitors adhere to all H&S regulations and that he advises the Project Manager, SI Team Leader and HSE Manager of any H&S issues/concerns they have with the SC and record such concerns using documents.
Completes SI is to issue Non Conformance Notices to the Sub-Contractor to stop any H&S or non-conformant work activity until actions are taken to rectify the issue and record in the weekly report. The SI is to keep a copy of the document and a record of the date and to whom it was issued.
Site Inspector completes the Accident/Near Miss Report form and documents.
Stop all work relating to H&S issue.
Telephone Project Manager & Team Leader to report H&S incident/issue
The SI is to contact the HSE Manager for all H&S issues by email and telephone after completing the required documents.
